Industry, regulation, governance, energy, logistics and security converge in Lecco on 27 May 2026.
Italian steel is preparing for one of its most decisive days. Green Steel Vision 2026 — Steel: transition and sustainability will gather the entire supply chain in the Aula Magna of the Politecnico di Milano's Lecco campus on Wednesday 27 May, to address with pragmatism and vision the transformations reshaping the sector: technological innovation, new European regulations, ESG challenges, CBAM developments and global competitiveness.
The morning will open with a programme designed to give companies concrete tools and operational frameworks. The technical opening will be entrusted to Eng. Carlo Mapelli (Politecnico di Milano), who will provide the scientific foundation of the entire day, explaining "how steel is born, which technologies have the greatest environmental impact and which are already most compatible with ESG and CBAM logics".
The regulatory paradigm shift will be at the centre of the contribution by Atty. Giuseppe Sinisi (Oxygen O2 Legacy Ltd), who will dive into CBAM, the circular economy and the implementation of ESG programmes, showing why the new European framework is "a watershed moment" and how sustainability can become a competitive lever rather than a cost.
Following this, Dr. Sara Pelucchi (KC & A Srl) will focus on internal governance: organisation, reporting tools, sustainability report and the integration of ESG criteria into decision-making processes.
The programme will continue with Dr. Federico Biffis (Head of Sales, Plenitude), focusing on the energy transition as a competitive lever. This will be followed by the operational contribution of Matteo Calascibetta (Boriani Navigazione), who will illustrate the impact of CBAM on imports, the strategic role of logistics and the reduction of operational and customs risks.
The plenary will close with Matteo Falsetti, CISO of Easynet Group and ethical hacker, who will guide the audience through the theme of industrial resilience: from plant security to the NIS2 directive, and the use of AI for manufacturing efficiency.
The afternoon will be dedicated to sharing tables: seven thematic sessions, with a maximum of eight participants per round, designed to encourage direct discussion, networking and operational deep-dives.
Green Steel Vision 2026 stands as a moment of concrete work, where industry, regulation, governance, energy, logistics and security converge to build a sustainable and competitive future for the steel supply chain.
